RUNNER`S DECLARATION
All participants must self-certify themselves by agreeing to the following Runner`s Self-Declaration Statement. Receipt of payment is your agreement.
By entering THE LAKES 3000 ULTRA, I confirm and agree to the following:
1.Understanding of the Challenge and Risks
I understand that by entering THE LAKES 3000 ULTRA, I accept the difficulties and risks associated with the event, including its length, elevation gain, challenging terrain and potential hazards such as changing weather conditions, limited visibility, injury and self-navigation at night.
2.Experience and Competence
I confirm that I have sufficient mountain experience to safely undertake the event and that I have previously completed a similar event involving exposed terrain.
3. Fitness and Health
I declare that I am physically fit and healthy enough to participate in the event. I understand that it is my responsibility to declare any relevant medical condition that may affect my participation.
4.Physical and Mental Demands
I acknowledge the physical and mental demands of the event and confirm that I can exercise sound mountain judgement in relation to nutrition, hydration and personal safety. I can manage fatigue, digestive issues, muscle cramps and minor injuries, including blisters and cuts.
5.Self-Sufficiency and Emergencies
I confirm that I am self-sufficient and capable of managing emergency situations should they arise. I am capable of self-evacuating from remote areas where necessary.
6. Personal Safety and Retirement
I agree to make responsible decisions throughout the event and to retire if necessary. I will not knowingly put myself, other participants, volunteers, event staff or members of the public at risk.
7.Cut-Off Times
I understand that the event’s cut-off times are in place for my safety and the safety of others. I agree to retire from the event if I exceed a cut-off time or if a member of the event team determines that it is unsafe for me to continue.
8. Nutrition and Hydration
I understand that Check Points and Aid Stations are provided to support my self-sufficiency. Food and drink may be available, but I remain responsible for carrying sufficient nutrition and hydration for the duration of the event.
9..Navigation
I understand that only parts of the course will be marked. I confirm that I am competent in using a map and compass, GPS device (handheld or watch) and the provided GPX file to navigate the course independently.
10. Remote and Unmanned Sections
I understand that there will be a limited number of Marshals on the course and that I may be required to travel through remote and unmarked sections independently.
11. Risk and Liability
I acknowledge the inherent risks associated with participating in THE LAKES 3000 ULTRA, including those arising from the terrain, weather, fatigue, injury, navigation and the remote nature of the course. To the extent permitted by law, I accept that the Promoter, Promoting Organisation, Event Sponsors, Crystal Outdoor Events Ltd and event officials shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage suffered by me in connection with my participation in the event, however caused.
12. Fair and Sporting Conduct
I agree to participate in THE LAKES 3000 ULTRA in a fair and sporting manner and to show respect to other participants, volunteers, event staff, landowners and members of the public.
13. Race Rules
By entering THE LAKES 3000 ULTRA, I confirm that I have read and understood the Race Rules and agree to comply with them. I accept that Crystal Outdoor Events Ltd may enforce the Race Rules throughout the event.
